"Brevard Notes" (Brighthouse Cable) Taping
Joe Crews once again invited us to appear on his "Brevard Notes" cable TV program. This time we got both segments!

John Ellis played one of his flute to provide an example of the type of music visitors would hear at the festival.
Melbourne Sam's Club Diamond Level Sponsorship Presentation
Larry Cherry presents the Sam's Club Diamond Level sponsorship check to Martha Pessaro and Claire Ellis at a morning employees' meeting.  After the check was presented, we were requested to provide some entertainment. Performing are (left to right) Zeta Gibbs (flute), David Jenkins (hand drum), Martha Pessaro (rattle).
Fall Cultural Arts Festival
The Native Rhythms Festival was represented at the Fall Cultural Arts Festival at the prestigious Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts with a table and a stage performance. This festival is hosted by the Brevard Cultural Alliance. Flute circle members handed out literature, demonstrated flute playing, and answered questions for thousands of visitors. On stage, John Ellis (flute & guitar) and Ken Holt (guitar) performed a variety of songs featuring the Native American flute.
Native Rhythms on I-95 & S.R.528 Billboards
Native Rhythms got great publicity on a number of Clear Channel Outdoors electronic billboards.

Applebee's Mural Honoring Native Rhythms Festival

We were contacted by an agent who were contracted to redecorate the Applebee's restaurant on Palm Bay Road, on the south boundary of Melbourne. The key feature of there work was to be a mural that illustrated major festivals in the Melbourne area. What they came up with prominently featured images of Robert Mirabal and Arvel Bird. A side image shows Robert Mirabal singing and playing a hand drum.

News Coverage

There are usually many community activities going on in Brevard County on Native Rhythms Festival weekend. Florida TODAY publishes a Friday insert called TGIF, which covers the major activities in the county that weekend. For our first four years, we've managed to get an inside article with a brief write-up of Native Rhythms. This year we reached our greatest goal, a cover photo and a major write-up! People notice and having Native Rhythms on the cover of TGIF may help explain the great turnout we saw this year. Thank you Florida TODAY!

Another of our publicity goal was to not only get Native Rhythms listed on the AAA Going Places magazine calendar of events, but to also have an article. For the first time, we also achieved that goal, as the article to the left, complete with the photo of Robert Mirabal, appeared in the November/December issue.
In addition to our major daily newspaper, Florida TODAY, we have a local weekly publication called the Hometown News. There are actually five different editions of our Brevard County's Hometown News: Melbourne, Palm Bay, Suntree/Viera, the Beaches, and North County. We were fortunate to have front page coverage in each edition, each with a photo of a resident of that area of the county.
